A leading specialist in automated grinding machines is looking for a Machine Tool Assembler. The Machine Tool Assembler will have knowledge of machine construction to construct, rebuild and repair machines and equipment using hand and power tools.

The Machine Tool Assembler will be responsible for:

• Assembling machine tools using instruments provided; print, sketches, manuals, etc.
• Analyzing blueprints and specifications, plan machine building operations.
• Using chisels and scrapers to remove high spots and smooth surfaces.
• Verifying alignment and tolerance of moving parts using measuring instruments; dial indicators and thickness gauges
• Forming and fastening piping fixtures and alignments required to service machine with air, water, and oil.
• Installing wiring and electrical components to specifications.
• Using precision measuring equipment

The Machine Tool Assembler will excel with:

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
• Trade school or 5 years or more Mechanical Assembly experience a plus.
• General knowledge of machine tool types and functions.
• Must be able to use precision measuring equipment designated for the accomplishment of work.
• Excellent communication proficiency
• Organizational skills, ability to keep work area neat and clean.
• Mathematical competency
• Technical applications capacity
• Excellent time management skills

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand for periods up to 4 hours without breaks
• Ability to move/climb around machines
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
• Reaching with hands and arms
• Must be able to talk and hear to accomplish job
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
