Insurance Verification Specialist

Snelling San Antonio is seeking an Insurance Verification Specialist for a medical clinic near San Pedro and 281. The Insurance Verification Specialist will be working to ensure that patients’ health care benefits cover required procedures. This will require contacting the patient’s insurance company to verify coverage levels and communicate with individuals to educate them on their benefits information.

Tasks:

• Verifying insurance coverage of each patient
• Handling payments for services not covered by insurance
• Explaining coverages to patients
• Obtaining referrals for patients when they are not covered
• Updating patient information/keeping records
• Filling out documentation required for billing

• Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
• Job Type: Full-time
• $15.00 – $16.00 per hour

Skills and Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous customer service via the phone
• Previous billing experience preferred
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
• Work experience with insurance companies preferred
• Clear communication skills
• Detail-oriented focus

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Insurance verification: 2 years (Preferred)
• Medical billing: 2 years (Preferred)
