An industry leader in turn-key automated solutions specializing in custom automation, robotics, tooling, and testing equipment is looking for a Controls Engineering Supervisor. The Controls Engineering Supervisor will provide technical support for the design, development, and implementation of automated manufacturing systems.
The Controls Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for:
- Technical engineering components of the quote, design, build, so that the project meets specifications and complies with customer expectations and internal SOW, Budgets and Timing, whether the activities are performed by inhouse personnel or contractors.
- Developing electrical and controls system design solutions based on customer speciation.
- Developing electrical design, schematics and drawings in AutoCAD and E-Plan.
- Providing technical support for equipment and panel build.
- Reporting job status to Project Manager and/or leadership team.
- Interpreting mechanical design drawings for electrical requirements.
- Reviewing supplier products for assembly components per specifications from customer.
- Helping establish new and maintain existing standards
- Serving as an interface between the controls engineering team and other departments, project management/engineering and the customer.
- Effective handoff and template design of software to the Validation Team

The Controls Engineering Supervisor will excel with:
- Requires 3-5 years of experience in the field of automation controls for the automotive industry
- 5-year equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum 3 years automotive and machine tool experience preferred.
- Must have been a lead or former engineering manager
- Hardware and Software experience with Rockwell and Siemens PLCs, or related controls engineering role.
- Hardware design such as panel layout or industrial controls required.
- Familiar with PLC’s and HMI hardware from Allen Bradley, Siemens and desirable Mitsubishi.
- AutoCAD and E-Plan electrical experience necessary.
- Familiarity with Industrial standards NEC, NFPA, UL, SCCR requirements, GCCH is a plus.
- Software experience with Rockwell and/or Siemens PLC and HMI platforms, or related controls engineering role.
- Experience interfacing with Fanuc and/or ABB robots, hands-on robotic programming and/or debug experience is preferred.
- Motion Controls experience with different types of Servo Drives and Variable Frequency Drives.
- Industrial Networks experience such as Ethernet I/P, Profibus, Profinet, Remote I/O.
- Some plant floor experience required.
- Experience interfacing with Cognex and/or Keyence vision systems, hands-on vision setup experience is preferred.
- Organized, detail oriented, self-motivated, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
