Coding Supervisor - Remote Work Opportunity!!!
A large hospital is seeking a Coding Supervisor to assist in the day-to-day operations of the coding team to ensure coding meets specifications of Federal Regulations, American Health Information Management, and the World Health Organization. The ideal candidate for the Coding Supervisor will have experience with coding in a hospital setting. A must is an experience with inpatient coding (DRG) as this role also works with the Revenue Cycle denials team. Remote eligible once fully trained on the job. Must live within a 1 hour +/- geographic location to make it easier for any onsite needs that may come up.
$52,000+ Dependent on experience

The Coding Supervisor will be responsible for:
- The management of a team of experienced Certified Coding Specialists, and coordination with other HIM management team.
- Day-to-day HIM operations and active management of DNFB (Discharged Not Final Billed) accounts.
- Offering hands-on mentoring to welcome new hires with encouragement and peer-level support.
- Work in close collaboration with the Clinical Documentation Improvement/Coding Auditor Supervisor to ensure our CDI program is working well and that the inpatient coders and CDI nurses keep open lines of communication.
- Participating in weekly management calls which includes other areas of the Revenue Cycle.
- Creating and maintaining job descriptions for all supervised personnel
- Overseeing staff payroll and leave records
- Working collaboratively with coding teams to assure employee resources are being used effectively to staff to patient volumes and need for coding coverage.
- Performing job duties in an efficient and productive manner utilizing good time management and professional work habits.
- Developing and recommending tools that may increase staff efficiency (software; reference books; workflow procedures; inservices; etc.).
- Promoting and providing opportunities for professional development and continuing education of team members.
- Developing and maintaining knowledge of the Company’s coding technology including the two patient EMR’s (Paragon, NextGen), 3M Encoder, Allscripts Intelligent
- Providing timely communication and adhering to the Company’s coding operation procedures.
- Promoting the Company’s values.
- Performing other job-related duties as may be assigned or required.
The Coding Supervisor will excel with:
- Coding certification from American Health Information Management Association, or American Academy of Professional Coders
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Inpatient coding
- Must be knowledgeable of DRG classification
- In-depth knowledge of medical records management and acute care coding
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards
- Excellent time management, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must have excellent computer literacy
- Must be self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, and detailed oriented.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to multi-task
The Coding Supervisor will be rewarded with:
