Certified Medical Assistant 

A busy medical office is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant. The Certified Medical Assistant will help patients by providing clinical and business office assistance in the offices and clinics of health care providers. The ideal candidate will excel with phlebotomy experience. 4pm-11pm shift available, as well as 5pm-12pm available. 

Positions available in Maryville and Knoxville, Tennessee

$15-$18 hourly salary dependent on experience

The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for:

• Welcoming patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone.
• Answering or referring inquiries.
• Preparing patients for visit by ensuring all documentation needed for the visit has been obtained in advance and is entered into the medical record prior to patient visit
• Directing patients to the examining room
• Completing any necessary testing
• Arranging exam to prepare for visit with a provider.
• Verifying patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.
• Supporting patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; disposing of contaminated supplies; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; taking electrocardiograms; monitors; etc.
• Completing records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.
• Generating revenues by ensuring completion of billing information for services rendered to patients during their visit, completing necessary forms for patients, employers, insurance companies;
• Keeping supplies ready by inventorying stock
• Maintaining safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Maintaining patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
• Adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards.
• Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
