JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical Printed Circuit Assembly design work, for new product development and changes to existing designs as assigned. Assists with sourcing hard-to-find, and alternate components in full compliance with design criteria and agency approvals. Initiates prototype packages and assigns, manages, and assists in carrying out the building of Engineering models and test fixtures. Responsible for all unreleased bills of material and documentation.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carries out electrical and electro-mechanical designing including PCA layouts and electro-mechanical packaging.
- Provides all documentation artwork and NC files (tooling) necessary for production of PCAs such as detail drawings, fabrication artwork, assembly drawings and Bills of Material.
- Creates and maintains component library parts within design software.
- Reviews new product specifications for PCA requirements to assist Mechanical and Electrical Engineers on initial product design in packaging constraints pertaining to board layout and electrical component packaging.
- Assists Supply Chain and Engineers in Component selection and sourcing for new and existing designs.
- Ensure all PCA design documentation meet regulatory requirements.
- Maintains files to ensure all PCA design documents are in alignment at all times during design process and before release.
- Prepares and produces packages for quotation and procurement of new and modified PCAs.
- Reviews and updates PCA design documents of existing products as part of ECO process.
- Assists with selection of alternates for unavailable, long lead time, or obsolete components.
- Converts legacy schematics and PCA designs to current CAD software.
- Provides support in all areas of Engineering in an accurate and timely fashion
- Performs all other duties as assigned or directed.

Must have working knowledge of standard electronic, electrical and electro-mechanical components and design and assembly techniques
Must have Altium Designer experience or equivalent
Preferred to have experience with ORCAD, PADS, Inventor, and/or AutoCAD
Preferred to have working knowledge of hazardous area certification standards
Preferred to have formal training in IPC standards for PCA manufacturing and assembly
EXPERIENCE: Minimum five years of experience in electrical, electro-mechanical design and documentation required. Associate Degree in relevant disciplines preferred.
