Position Summary
The Motor Assembler will assemble electric motors and/or sub-assemblies using work instructions, prints, and other manufacturing documents to support Quality and On-Time Delivery performance. This includes operating specialized equipment, wiring per electrical specifications, and painting. Repair work on existing motors may also be required.
Primary Responsibilities
· Assemble components according to manufacturing documents and specifications
· Prepare and terminate electrical leads per specification
· Magnetize rotor assemblies using specialized equipment
· Assemble and balance rotor assemblies
· Coating and painting of parts, sub-assemblies, and completed motors
· Keep supervisor informed on timing relative to assembly schedule and when questions or issues arise related to any aspect of the assembly processor.
Experience and Education
· High School Diploma required
· Experience with machining, painting, electrical wiring, and electrical test desired
Technical Skills
· Ability to use fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions in practical situations to the extent necessary to follow work instructions
· Read and interpret Engineering Drawings, specifications, and/or technical documents
· Must have good fine motor skills and mechanical aptitude
· Use lifting devices such as overhead gantry crane and material handling equipment
· Use measurement devices to ensure dimensional accuracy of components
· Ability to lift 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
Physical Requirements
· Hearing and sight are essential due to the nature of the work.
· Requires standing and walking continuously throughout the day.
· Full use of hands and fingers is a requirement.
· Able to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 50 pounds on occasion
