Mechanical Drafter
Snelling is currently recruiting for an experience Mechanical Drafter for a very busy client in the Irondale area! This Mechanical Drafter will design and create layouts for engineering specifications. Construct clear and complete assembly drawings, detail manufacturing drawings and revise existing drawings. These drawings will be used to facilitate quoting, purchasing and/or manufacturing of standard or custom products.
Essential Functions for Mechanical Drafter:
- Create and develop 2D & 3D CAD models and drawings which will require a basic proficiency in the use of the AutoDesk/AutoCAD/Inventor systems and the manipulation of CAD parts.
- Accurately dimension designs and create proper assemblies and components. Use ANSI and ISO standard dimensioning and tolerance practices.
- Assist in the product design from customer's drawings, customer's sketches, salesperson's sketches or from a description.
- Interface with the customer, customer service correspondents, salesperson and manufacturing.
- Be able to perform program changes when needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience needed for Mechanical Drafter:
- 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Drafter
- Vocational education preferred
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read blueprints and follow routers
- Ability to read and understand operating procedures
- Ability to perform basic math
- Daily and weekend overtime may be required
