Responsibilities for Drafter consist of:
- Interpret and understand of written job requirements in order to visualize and transfer ideas into shop production drawings
- Understand steel fabrication and machine shop practices in order to recognize capabilities and limitations of equipment and raw materials when designing products.
- Effectively communicate with other employees, customers, and salespeople to provide information and guidance in a professional manner regarding design specifications and job requirements.
- Coordinating order details with members of the manufacturing team
- Maintain accurate records of drawing files and changes in Technical Files
- Convert detailed parts to .dxf files and process in programming software for output to CNC cutting machines.
- Demonstrating and improving upon product and service knowledge and capabilities in order to improve business opportunities with new and existing customers.
Experience Required for Drafter:
- 3 to 7 years experience utilizing design and drafting practices for steel plate & structural steel components in a manufacturing setting.
- Candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD AutoDesk Mechanical and experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 modeling is preferred. Knowledge of plate steel development and fabrication is required.
- Ability to read and understand job specifications and drawings is required.
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree or technical degree is required
