The Electronics Repair Technician will perform all testing and repair of electronic devices including printed circuit boards and assemblies, as well as receive inspection of specific electronic devices.
Key Functions & Responsibilities of the Electronics Repair Technician
- Preliminary and final testing of all production electronic devices including customer and in-house repairs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot testing problems and interface with engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to solve problems.
- Calibration of electronic equipment and products.
- Maintain and perform simple repairs of test equipment.
- Receiving inspection of specific electronic devices (impedance converters, chips, etc.).
- Requisition bench stock and supplies associated with electronic testing.
- Fabricate and/or troubleshoot test fixtures.
- Prepare discrepancy reports for the disposition of electronic devices.
- Recommend improvements in test fixtures, Test Procedures, Product Definitions, and new test equipment.
- Create diagnoses report and repair report.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Experience, Skills & Abilities of the Electronics Repair Technician
- Associate in Applied Science or equivalent two-year diploma from a recognized community or junior college plus three years experience in testing electronic devices; or Equivalent training and experience.
- Experience in testing and troubleshooting electronic devices including an understanding of the operation of analog and digital circuits and components.
- Experience in the operation of various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, frequency generators, insulation testers, etc.
- Experience in calibration techniques.
- Ability to read schematics and mechanical assembly drawings, test procedures, test set up drawings, and product definitions.
- Ability to sit at a desk 90% of the workday, ability to use a computer 70% of the workday.
- Physical requirements: ability to use department equipment 100% of the workday; ability to sit at a workbench 90% of the workday; 20/20 corrected vision; able to lift up to 50 pounds.
