Position Summary

Provide electrical design services for jobs to improve worker safety, plant productivity, and equipment reliability.

Support for a safe, secure, and efficient plant operations

Work within the department design group to assist with maintenance of the engineering drawing system, ensuring that new and revised drawings are properly indexed.

Facilitate engineering for new equipment and equipment modifications
Provide field assistance for the installation of engineering projects
Minimize project installation costs through design clarifications.

Maintain efficient and up-to-date CAD skills, recommending new software & changes when necessary, including 2D, 3D, and automatic drawing generation methods.

Ensure efficiency in making engineering drawings

Serve as an electrical resource for all plant departments, providing information and troubleshooting assistance as required.

Key Functions & Responsibilities of the Electrical Designer

Electrical Design for Central Engineering and our Plant Departments
Maintenance of Engineering Drawing System assistance
design and field support as directed by the design or engineering manager.
Typical portfolio consists of 50-70 projects of various size and in various stages of completion. This role will be assigned to a number of these projects, depending on size and complexity. Additionally, support will be required to assist area engineers with drawing or design updates associated with maintenance activities as assigned by the Lead Designer.
This job is primarily office-based with periodic field requirements.

Qualifications

Required Experience, Skills & Abilities of the Electrical Designer

Associates or Bachelor's Degree in related field.
3 Years’ Experience in related Field preferred.
Proficient in Electrical Design and Drafting methods, symbols, and standards
Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) 2D required, 3D preferred.
Proficient computer skills
Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills
