Commercial Coordinator

Role Summary

Under the direction of the commercial manager, the commercial coordinator is a resource dedicated to engineering change management, capacity planning and customer interaction. The commercial coordinator also facilitates communication with the customer as it relates to quoting new business and maintaining existing business. This position is critical to identify, prevent and resolve issues to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction, as well as the highest quality standards of Magna Electric Vehicle Structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comply with Quality, Environmental, and Material Management System requirements.
  • Display a positive attitude toward safety, follow all company policies and report all unsafe and unhealthy conditions.
  • Report all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental standards in accordance with the Magna Employee Charter and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Follow and support MEVS and Magna operating principles, including:

Key Qualifications/Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:

  • Process & maintain engineering changes
  • Analyze and enter MMA (multi-media attachment) information from the customer into Engineering Change database
  • Distribute change information and follow up with appropriate parties as necessary
  • Process & maintain PPAP data
  • Monitor WERS & other customer systems for any changes to parts
  • Maintain CMS Bill of Materials
  • Update AutoDCP for proper maintenance of PPAP documentation
  • Actively participate in document control
  • Prepare and submit internal capacity reports
  • Other duties as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must exhibit high integrity and honesty.
  • Must have the ability to assess unusual situations and address them quickly.
  • Must be able to interface with customers in a professional manner.
  • Must possess the ability to interact with customers, suppliers & co-workers in a professional manner
     
Additional Information

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Some of the physical demands of this position include sitting for prolonged periods of time, walking up and down staircases, occasional lifting, and occasional stooping and bending.

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED:

  • Some of the equipment and tools used are computer, telephone, fax machine, copier/printer, and a projector.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Must have good computer skills and the ability to navigate Microsoft Excel.

EDUCATION:  

  • Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or business administration

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in manufacturing & Lean principles
  • Experience with APQP documentation and other related processes
  • Experience working in an automotive industry
