Job Description: 

Snelling has an immediate opening for a Cost Estimator in Louisville, KY. This position will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data to estimate the amount of money, time, materials, and labor required to manufacture a product. The Cost Estimator should be able to work independently and demonstrate a proactive, problem-solving attitude. Job duties include:

• Identify factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials, and labor
• Read blueprints and technical specifications and SOWs to prepare estimates for complex equipment
• Analysis of supplier quotations/proposals to perform price/cost analysis and understand elements of cost
• Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and accounting
• Calculate, analyze, and adjust estimates
• Provide managers with the information they need to submit competitive contract bids
• Using computer software and excel to calculate cost estimates
• Preparing and presenting cost reports for clients

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a similar field preferred
• 5-10 years of estimating and manufacturing experience
• Advanced knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes
• High-level mathematical skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Advanced analytical skills
• Good project management skills
