Job Summary:
The Solderer in the Repair Center will perform complex rework of equipment and all associated sub-assemblies; using advanced equipment and techniques to replace BGAs, multiple IC packages, hardwires and all other components installed at facility.
The Solderer will review the Model and all sub-assembly ECO packages in Agile to bring units to the highest Revision, considering the level of the bare board and the effectivity code for each change order.
The Solderer will work closely with repair technicians to determine that the repairs required will result in an reliable product returned to our customer. The Solderer is also responsible for related activities such as dis-assembly / assembly of product received; cleaning if necessary; ordering required parts for Repairs and ECOs; documentation of work completed for data entry, and other tasks as assigned.
Understanding Rhos requirements, with the ability to work with both leaded and lead free solders, ensuring that lead free products do not become contaminated with leaded solders during rework or update.
Minimum Requirements:
∙ High School diploma or equivalent, minimum of 1 year experience in a related production environment.
∙ Basic understanding of ECO systems, preferably Agile.
∙ Must have working knowledge and the ability to produce output consistent with
IPC-A-610C, specifically IPC Class 2 workmanship.
∙ Basic understanding of ISO 9000:2015; KPIs and our contribution to them
∙ Must possess excellent hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity
∙ Ability to effectively read, write, speak and comprehend English. Must have basic math skills.
∙ Must possess computer knowledge with experience in MS Windows environment.
∙ Must be willing to work overtime on short notice; nights, weekends or holidays if needed.
∙ Must be able to work efficiently in a fast paced, multi-tasking, team orientated environment.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Using Agile locates assembly drawings and Engineering Change Orders
- Reads and understands assembly drawings, Engineering Changes Order and Work Instructions
- Performs complex repairs of Printed Wiring Boards as directed by troubleshoot.
- Performs complex engineering changes as directed by Engineering Change Orders.
- May require the use of automated soldering equipment and solder pots.
- Use computer programs to collect data about work performed.
- Completes required logs and associated forms.
Additional Conditions of Work:
- Must have vision corrected to a minimum of 20-25, color perception is required
- Must be able to lift 25-49 pounds
- Must have reasonable manual dexterity and be able to spend extended periods of time in a sitting or standing position.
- Must be able to work overtime on short notice, including nights, weekends and holidays.
- May be required to work with alcohol, thinners, cleaners and lead.
- Position exposed to continuous, but OSHA acceptable levels of noise from computer and manufacturing equipment.
- Appropriate safety clothing and equipment required for use with hazardous equipment and work areas.
- Position subject to deadline pressure.
