Job Summary, Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:
This position focuses on both the tactical and strategic purchasing tasks in support of production requirements.
Summary of Job Functions I. Professional - Maintains professional and ethical standards with both internal customers and external suppliers.
- Must apply consistent business practices in evaluating supplier performance.
- Must be self-motivated and responsible for asking detailed questions in order to; identify issues, elevate concerns, and offer resolution where appropriate.
- Should be able to document a desire for learning.
II. Tactical - Mastery of the following:
- Demonstrate competency using the Corporate MRP system.
- Demonstrate an ability to follow existing ISO processes.
- Responsible for order placement, adjustment, tracking, and expediting in order to maintain the free flow of material in support of the Corporate MRO needs.
- Responsible for evaluating reports and executing all actions required.
- Provide support cross functionally to Receiving/Inspection, Planning, Quality, Accounting, and Component Engineering teams.
- Must provide proactive communication to those impacted by any unexpected changes in supply.
- This role pursues and demonstrates a growing level of competence in the use of MS Office to include pivot tables & v-look up commands.
- This role pursues a deeper understanding of the parts being managed by being able to present key facts, e.g. dollar drivers, volume drivers, key suppliers, key parts, etc.
- This role offers a more efficient and detailed view into quote preparation due to focus on data analysis and organization.
III. Strategic - Manages supplier relationships through meetings, reviews, and corrective actions in order to maintain high standards.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the steps involved in a successful negotiation.
- Must be able to organize, evaluate, and present data that justifies an appropriate business decision.
- Has developed a more detailed understanding of market conditions and industry changes which may have an impact on price and availability.
- Has a more detailed commodity understanding and the supply chain dynamics.
- Must be able to identify the strengths and weaknesses involved across the supply chain (e.g. Manufacturer, Distributor, and Broker).

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Business-Related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Must be able to pass background check.
- Proficient at reading, writing, and business math.
- Must be able to lift 25-49 pounds.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be organized, work efficiently in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to follow procedures with attention to detail.
- Must be detailed-oriented and results driven with strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to solve complex issues of diverse scope required.
· Must have good working knowledge of Oracle ERP or other industry standard CRM systems.
