Epoxy Operator

The Epoxy Oven Operator will set up and operate the Epoxy Oven to produce parts per print, customer, and quality requirements.

Department: Bus Fabrication

2nd Shift: 2pm- 10pm

Pat rate: $15- $16

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Understand complex prints and set up sheets and can program parts/machine per drawings
  • Read drawings well to determine proper masking dimensions
  • Knows all operations and safety procedures of the Epoxy Oven
  • Ability to set up Epoxy Oven per daily specifications
  • Operate Epoxy Oven in a productive manner
  • Ability to lift and place miscellaneous sizes and shapes of copper bus bars on and off racks
  • Enter proper calculations int the Epoxy Computer for proper thickness of epoxy coating
  • Comprehend and adhere to cleaning and maintenance procedures specific to the Epoxy oven
  • Prepares bus bars for silver plating
  • Ability to execute silver plating operation when required
  • Corroborate with Department Lead and other departments within Bus Fabrication when needed
  • Operate tow motor and over head crane safely and efficiently
  • Recognizes and informs Department Lead/ Supervisor/ Quality control of any problems or NCMR issues


Required Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints, assembly prints, packing lists, shop orders, and other written correspondence
  • Close attention to detail
  • Ability to recognize quality expected and able to reproduce it
  • Must have good knowledge fractions and decimals
  • Understand and follow directions
  • Able to use tape measure, calipers, micrometers, etc.

 

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years’ experience in a production environment
  • Personal Protection Equipment Training (PPE), Global Harmonization System Training (GHS), Lock Out- Tag Out Training, (LOTO)
    • Onsite training available
  • Tow Motor and Overhead Crane Certification
    • Onsite training available

 

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing
  • Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a production environment
